Apartment opening marks final phase of Woodward block’s revival
Detroit— A 15-year effort to revive a derelict block of Woodward Avenue entered its final phase Thursday with the formal opening of 61 rental apartments, 45 of which have already been leased.
The Woodward Garden Apartments is the last piece of a $42 million overhaul of the 3900 block of Woodward that includes the revived historic Garden Theater, about 82,000 square feet of office and retail, a 300-space parking garage and now, 61 market-rate apartments.
