Fisher Body Plant redevelopment nabs $1M in state brownfield funding
The Fisher Body Plant 21 redevelopment in Detroit has secured a $1 million grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) to support site remediation efforts. The project, led by Jackson Asset Management and Hosey Development, is being designed by McIntosh Poris Associates.
The grant will help fund the cleanup of the site, which is a significant step forward for the redevelopment of the historic building. The Fisher Body Plant 21 was once a major manufacturing facility for General Motors, but it has been vacant for many years. The redevelopment plans aim to transform the site into a mixed-use space with office, retail, and residential spaces.
